Minimum Qualifications
Experience
- 2+ years of TIG welding experience required
- Fabrication and/or finishing experience preferred
- Forklift experience a plus
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform high‑quality TIG welding, grinding, and finishing, including:
- Fillet welding with uniform width and depth
- Grinding and striping no wider than 3/8', with all burn marks fully blended and no visible marks
- Fuse welding a 90‑degree joint with:
- Flat weld surface
- Even width
- Sharp exterior edge
- No rollover
- Working knowledge of shop tools, including:
- Drill motors, cutoff saws, grinders
- Drill press, tapping tools
- Belt sanders and various hand tools
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
- Ability to read and understand English to interpret prints, diagrams, and drawings
- Strong math skills
- Team‑oriented with good interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited two‑year welding program
- Experience with sheet metal manufacturing
- Experience working in a production environment
Job Function
- Reports to the Team or Section Leader
- Direction provided toward defined objectives using a wide range of procedures
- Frequent interaction with team members and other departments
Key Responsibilities
- TIG fillet weld and finish stainless steel equipment and components with uniform width and depth
- Maintain and meet all quality standards
- Review and analyze:
- Plans
- Drawings
- Work samples
- Specifications
- Work orders
- Follow all safety and housekeeping rules
- Cross‑train into other areas and job functions as needed
- Willingness to assist in other departments when required
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
- Bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and stand on a concrete floor for prolonged periods
- Occasionally climb and work from ladders
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Carry up to 30 lbs
